Chichen Itza Pyramid, Mexico

The ancient city of Chichen Itza is one of the most important Mayan civilization centers on the Yucatan Peninsula. Many ethnic groups have left their footprints. The ancient city of Chichen Itza in Mexico is home to one of the oldest pyramids in Mexico. The Mayans are said to be responsible for creating this engineering marvel during the 6th century, which became their civilization’s religious, military, political, and commercial center.

To preserve this wonder, there are strict rules to be followed by anyone who has booked a tour with their credit cards to these great pyramids. For example, they are not allowed to climb the pyramid. This rule was also created for the tourists’ safety, and if the local authorities were able to implement it early on,  accidents, like what happened in 2006, could have been avoided.
